Featured MMJ Strain: Somango
Somango, bred by the infamous Soma Seeds, is an indica dominant hybrid. Somango is surprisingly uplifting and energetic, even though the genetics are 75% indica, and the high is clear headed, promoting focus and productivity. Somango is known to make patients feel relaxed, focused, happy, uplifted, and energetic while staying clear headed. Patients can expect relief from stress, pain, insomnia, fatigue, and muscle spasms, as this strain is a great anxiolytic among other things.
Cultivated by Soma Seeds in Amsterdam, Somango’s flavors are local to that region, with Jack Herer being a strong genetic force in the strain, along with Super Skunk and Big Skunk Korean. The strong presence of dutch genetics in Somango gives the strain a nice well rounded effect, a trait one would expect from a strain like this cultivated by a Dutch breeder with Soma’s level of skill.
Somango’s flavor is headlined by tropical fruits, sweetness, and skunk. Soma Seeds originally named the strain Soma #5, but with the strong fruity odor of the strain, they decided to re-name if after the fruit which it smelled like most: mango. The buds grow bright green or dark green, depending on the phenotype, and the scent is delightfully fruity while it grows.
Included below are three reviews of Somango which MMJ patients posted on Leafly, a marijuana strain network for medical marijuana patients.
“Created my own Cannabutter with this strain. From there I made cookies and chocolate bars, which I must say were really good. I felt very relaxed and chill but I was still able to function and focus if I needed to. I’ve got neck and back pain and this strain helps manage my pain.” -dubg604
“Great strain, but not a cup contender. It’s great for pain and ailments before bed, and it will provide you with an awesome cerebral effect.” -bradhabitz
“This strain effectively alleviates my neck pain and headaches. Also, I find the find the strain to be calming, something which may prevent racing thoughts and anxiety. If you have insomnia like me, I highly encourage you to medicate with SoMango first in the evening. Then, medicate with a pure Indica like Northern Lights right before getting into bed. So, in other words, SoMango provides a fantastic transition from …” -Rastamoncometh
